Three intertwined stories of three people in unhappy relationships who are shaken by a kind of angels who, taking human form, appear on earth to safeguard serenity and peace.
BRITNEY HUNTER is beautiful and forty years old. She is the wife of JIM HUNTER, a successful cosmetics entrepreneur. She is the first model for Hunter Cosmetics, but aside from her pretty face, she is not particularly liked by Jim. Her best friend RITA is not much of a comfort to her. With the help of a kind of angel, JOHNNIE MARTINI, she finds the strength to step out of the ephemeral world of superficiality to touch the deeper meaning of life.
PHIL WEEK is forty-five years old and works as a clerk in a luxury hotel. His shyness is exploited by his work colleagues who bully him. For ten years he has dreamed of being promoted to department head. He lives with AGATA, with whom he shares a love full of sex and devotion, but without finding in his partner the predisposition for personal or sentimental discourse that he finds instead in SANTA SUITE, the mysterious woman who has entered his life, his thoughts. Supported by this, Phil finds the courage to break free from the shackles of the past and claim his promotion and dignity.
It is not easy to explain the nature of these aliens to the determined Commissioner RENZO SAX (60), who questions Britney to investigate a possible extraterrestrial origin. Britney can only admit to feeling a sense of peace, warmth and friendship in the presence of these beings. In the midst of the investigation, Sax's life is overwhelmed by a similar presence in the form of his wife LINDA in her wedding dress as a young woman. Finding his neglected love for his wife, Sax repents by forgiving her betrayals. Sax renounces violence and becomes a propagator of peace, which results in his immediate dismissal in favor of the even more resolute Inspector PORKRIDER, immediately assigned to the investigation in his place.
Thus ends an early witty comedy about personal problems in a neo-realist surreal or magical vein, a message of peace that opens up for further bizarre episodes.
